It has been a while since we played at "The Lakes" at Mount Edgecombe (course # 2) and granted that the weather was not the greatest, it really was a nice change. The course was in great shape for this time of the year and really is an extremely pleasant and pretty setting.

Unfortunately the event was spoiled for the later starters from the 10th tee where extremely slow play was encountered resulting in the last players being unable to finish in the dark. The committee has received numerous complaints regarding slow play on the day and will address this but, there is a responsibility for all players to keep up play and not fall behind the four-ball in front. Please be responsible, play when you are ready (rather than wait for your turn to play) and thereby ensure that we all enjoy the day.

Enough of that so, onto the results ;

The A Division was won by Eric Mhlongo with a gross score of 75 on a count out from Guy O'Connor also with 75 gross who was awarded the Best Nett prize. Second in the A Division was lance Mansfield with a gross score of 77.

The Best Nett as mentioned went to Guy O'Connor with 75 less 3 = 72 nett with runner-up Dean Stopforth being counted out with 79 less 7 = 72 nett.

The B Division scores were all very good with Roy Singh taking first place with 40 individual stableford points. Second was Harry Naidoo (39 points), third was Robin Singh (38 points), fourth was Richard Reid (37 points) and fifth was Paul Smith (36 points).

The C Division paid out two places. First was Ricky Brown with 31 individual stableford points counting out Sydney Subramany also with 31 points.

Nearest the pin prizes (sponsored by GolfBalls4You) went to Alex Pillay (3rd hole), Ganas Naicker (7th hole), Fezile Sineke (12th hole) and Alan Smith (17th hole).

Just a reminder that the KZNGU will be hosting the annual KZN Senior's Trophy on 18th June at Durban Counrty Club. This is an individual stableford event accross all divisions and does not count towards the Order of Merit.

The next Monthly Tournament is scheduled to be played at Kloof Country Club on Monday 2nd July. See you all there !
