The September KZN Senior monthly tournament took place at the lovely and challenging Selborne Park on Thursday the 13th. Selborne's defence is mainly its greens and this proved to be the case on Thursday with the placement of some very tricky pin positions where downhill putts really had to be cozied down to the hole or face the prospect of ending up off the green altogether. The short par three 4th hole in particular needs mention where the pin was tucked in the back right-hand corner which had many players stumped and resulted in very few pars being recorded for the hole on the day.

Max Magnussen seemed to master the flat stick and took the A Division honours with an impressive two over par gross 74. Basil Naidoo took runner-up position with 77 gross.

The best nett in the A Division went to Alan Erickson with 75 less 2 = 73 nett. Antony Brown took second place with 77 less 4 = 73 nett.

The B Division was won by Brian Morton with 39 individual stableford points. Second spot went to Johnny Schonken with 37 points, third was Robin Singh with 36 points and fourth was KD Pillay with 36 points (o.c.o.).

The C Division was won by Alan Branfield with 37 points followed by Henry Gounden with 35 points.

Closest to the pin prizes went to Hennie Nel (4th), Kenny Knock (11th), Alan Landsberg (15th) and Robin Singh (6th).

The next Senior Monthly Tournament is scheduled for the 24th October 2018 at Umhlali.
